plant surveillance response
i find this strangely compelling. much will depend on the level of craft you bring — i.e. it’s got to be something that a SWF resident would actually want to hang on their wall and live with for a long time. doing background extraction on the video to isolate the plant is an interesting idea (but might be hard to pull off); you’ll probably want to think carefully about how you set up the camera, what the picture frame looks like etc. also important is which plant/tree you select. can you think of something that would be particularly resonant?
another thing to think about is what happens to the historical record that your video creates. for instance, tracking budbreak over multiple years can be an indication of climate change; looking at leaves of various plants can tell you something about air pollution.
