Movie/Legend
Charlotte and Daniel,
You have most certainly elected to pursue an ambitious, but none the less, exciting project. As others have expressed, I would encourage you to carefully find the balance between lending a satirical history to the place while making sure the project isn’t over the top - a fine balance to be sure. For this reason, and the time constraint, it may be best to limit the film to one solid story-line as opposed to many. I wonder if you could relate this project to the actual history of the area as opposed to dismissing it as “not very interesting, and certainly lack[ing] any weight of importance”. Perhaps you could provide a mock explanation unto an actual historical event. If I remember correctly there was a fire on the docks in the 60’s. I am anxious to see where you go with this one and would be happy to help however I can. As a side note, my family has been very closely connected to the theater community in Portland for over 25 years. As a Portland based composer/arranger/thespian, my father has over 30 years experience in script/plot writing, music composition, editing, sound effects, etc. Maybe a good person to contact if you need help finding actors, supplies, or need help with sound/music.
